Netflix Horror Alert: Have you also gotten bored of watching horror films like me, that the story is already guessed? Well, I am in the same situation. But when a film proves my guesses wrong, that too not with a cheap twist, but with a real scary twist, then I feel it is important to tell other horror fans that this film is a must watch.

“Barbarian” released on Netflix – a horror that will send chills down your spine!

This is about Zac Cregar’s extremely scary horror thriller “Barbarian”, which is his first solo directorial film. After being removed from Hulu, “Barbarian” has been released on Netflix this week (on June 1) and it has secured the third position in the list of top 10 films as soon as it was released.

When horror legend and “Black Mirror” star rocked!

“Black Mirror” actress Georgina Campbell has played her ‘scream queen’ role very well in this film. Joining them are horror veterans Bill Skarsgard and Justin Long. The film turns a home invasion story into a nightmare. It’s a truly unforgettable and disturbing film, with the plot taking such a violent turn midway through that it feels like two films have been combined into one, and yet it still manages to be amazing.

This is a horror film made for horror fans. The way Krieger uses the cast and familiar formulas of the genre keeps surprising you with each shocking discovery. I’m not the only one who thinks so: In a rare achievement for the genre, “Barbarian” has earned a 92% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s better to watch without knowing anything, but here’s a little info!

“Barbarian” is one of those horror films you should watch without knowing anything. But if you need a little reassurance before committing to your precious streaming time (understandable!), here’s everything you need to know about this new horror hit on Netflix.

The story sounds simple enough: A young woman named Tass Marshall (Campbell) travels to Detroit for a job interview, only to discover that her Airbnb bookings have been doubled. The location is also a red flag, as it’s surrounded by ruins and a nearly deserted neighborhood.

Her unexpected roommate Keith seems pretty straight-laced, but since he’s played by Bill Skarsgard (who played Pennywise in the “It” movies), horror fans are suspicious from the start. Despite the alarm bells going off in her head, Tass decides to stay the night.

Naturally, things start to go awry from there. The two discover a hidden basement passage that leads into a labyrinth of tunnels, where there are chains on mattresses, surveillance cameras and blood-stained walls. As scary as this image sounds, the discovery is even more terrifying when they discover a demonic woman lurking in the depths, which turns their uneasy stay into a full-blown nightmare.

Another big name in horror – Justin Long, best known for “Jeepers Creepers” and “Tusk” – also joins the story, which I won’t reveal. Suffice to say that Keith and Tass soon realize they’re not the first to uncover this house’s creepy secrets.

A great mix of scares, humor and unexpected twists!

It all leads up to some of the most stomach-turning scenes I’ve seen in a horror film, but “Barbarian” isn’t entirely straightforward. Underneath the scares, there’s a sharp, dark sense of humor and twists on horror fans’ expectations that make the scary stuff even scarier.

While “Barbarian” makes plenty of use of classic horror elements that fans will recognize, the film subverts expectations in clever and disturbing ways, triggering your fight-or-flight instinct as the characters race through narrow halls. It’s a sharp, unpredictable film (even if you think you know where it’s going, trust me, you don’t) that balances suspense and terror with well-timed humor that keeps you engaged.

Some flaws, still a masterpiece!

Yes, it has some flaws. The third act goes a bit astray, and a big reveal was so awkward that I struggled to suspend my disbelief even as the action was heating up. But even with those complaints, I can confidently say that “Barbarian” earns a place alongside genre giants like “Get Out” and “Hereditary,” one of those rare modern horror films that’s actually worth your attention.
