MG M9 EV: MG Motor is getting ready to launch its luxury electric MPV, the MG M9, in India. The vehicle will be sold through the premium MG Select outlets. These outlets will also offer the upcoming Cyberster sports car. Pre-bookings for the M9 have started with a token amount of ₹51,000. A real-world range test has now revealed how far this MPV can go on a full charge.

Real-World Range of MG M9 EV

The company tested the MG M9 on Goan roads with four people inside and luggage in the boot. At the beginning of the test, the odometer showed a driven range of 350 km. During the test, the car was driven at average speeds of 80–90 km/h and touched a top speed of 150 km/h.

At 50% battery use, the car covered 172 km. At 97% battery usage, the reading went up to 300 km. When the full 100% battery was used, the car showed a total drive of 309 km. In total, including the earlier driven distance, the odometer showed 650 km. However, in this test run alone, the M9 gave a real-world range of only 300 km. This is much lower than the claimed WLTP range of 430 km and the brand’s earlier 550 km claim.
