PF Interest- If you are a salaried employee and your PF is deducted, then this news is very important for you. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will complete the process of crediting 8.25% interest to all account holders this week. According to Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, interest has been credited to 32.39 crore accounts so far, and interest will be credited to the remaining accounts by this week.

The government approved an interest rate of 8.25% for 2024-25 in May 2025. This return is better than most fixed income schemes at present, especially as long term savings for retirement.

Check PF balance online from EPFO portal

You can check your EPF account balance easily through the EPFO website. For this, you will need your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password. For this, follow these steps:

  • First of all go to the website of EPFO.
  • Click on “For Employees” under the “Our Services” tab.
  • Now select “Member Passbook” option.
  • Login by entering UAN and password.
  • After this select “Member ID” and you will see your balance and interest.

If you prefer to use the mobile app, you can also get information about your PF account from the UMANG app. For this, follow these steps:

  • Download UMANG App.
  • Go to “All Services” and select “EPFO”.
  • Click on “View Passbook” under “Employee Centric Services”.
  • Here you will see your account balance and transaction details.

Know your balance by giving a missed call

If you do not have a smartphone or you want to stay away from apps and websites, then it is also easy to check PF balance through a missed call. For this, your mobile number must be registered and activated on the UAN portal. Also, at least one KYC (such as Aadhaar, PAN or bank account) must be linked with UAN. Follow these steps to check balance through a missed call:

Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.

The call will automatically get disconnected in two rings and after some time you will receive an SMS with details of your PF balance and the previous deposit amount.

You will get information immediately via SMS

If you want to know the balance through SMS, then this method is also very easy, but for this your eKYC should be complete, UAN should be active and it should be linked to Aadhaar, PAN and bank. Apart from this, you have to send SMS only from the registered mobile number.

Send SMS to 7738299899 from your mobile by writing this message : EPFOHO UAN HIN

Here enter your 12 digit UAN in place of UAN, and HIN is for Hindi. Here you can also enter ENG for English or MAR for Marathi.
