Hero Vida: If you are planning to make the transition from petrol to electric, Hero has introduced a solid choice. With fuel costs increasing, an electric scooter that operates at merely ₹1.24 per km appears like a game changer. Hero’s Vida V1 VX2 not only provides excellent value but now at a substantially reduced cost courtesy of its new battery rent plan.
Big Drop in Price
Hero has cut the price of its Vida V1 VX2 electric scooter by ₹15,000. Previously priced at ₹59,490, the scooter now begins at a mere ₹44,490 (ex-showroom). This reduction is courtesy a new rentals model known as Battery as a Service (BaaS), where the buyer doesn’t need to purchase the battery. You pay only for what you use.
What is Battery as a Service (BaaS)?
Battery as a Service provides customers with the option to lease the battery instead of buying it along with the scooter. You are charged a minimal amount per kilometre depending on your chosen plan. The system reduces the upfront cost of the scooter. The system also provides flexibility in choosing a plan depending on your everyday usage.
Vida VX2 Go Plans
For the standard version Vida VX2 Go, you get a choice of two battery rental plans: 3 years or 5 years.
In the 3-year plan, you pay ₹1.24 per km. You have a minimum usage of 1,200 km per month, which amounts to ₹1,488 per month. Even if you ride less than the total distance, the fixed rate is applicable.
5-year plan comes at a slightly more expensive per km rate of ₹1.47 but at a lower monthly kilometre limit of 750 km. The monthly price is ₹1,103.
Vida VX2 Plus Plans
The VX2 Plus, the most advanced model, has additional plan options—2, 3, and 5 years.
Under the 2-year plan, you get the lowest cost per kilometre at only ₹0.90. You have to travel 2,400 km in a month, and pay ₹2,160 a month.
The 3-year plan provides 1,600 km a month for ₹1,584 at a rate of ₹0.99 per km.
The 5-year plan is for light users—800 km a month. The price per month is ₹1,128 at a rate of ₹1.41 per kilometre.
