Ration Card Update – There is good news for people waiting for the names of their family members to be added to the ration card. Preparations are on to remove the names of two lakh people from the ration card in Dhanbad district. As soon as these names are removed, the names of new members will be added to the ration card and such families will get the benefit of this.
The District Supply Office Dhanbad has started work regarding this task. Under this, notices have been issued by the department to 48,828 such card holders. According to the District Supply Department, these cardholders have been ordered to collect ration from their Public Distribution System shops and get e-KYC done within seven days.
It has been told that under the Jharkhand Targeted Public Distribution System Control Order 2024, there is a provision that if any cardholder is not lifting ration for six months or more, then his card will be canceled. In this regard, District Supply Officer Pradeep Kumar Shukla said that on an average, there are names of four members of a family on one card. The distribution target is not being achieved in Dhanbad due to people not lifting the ration.
On the other hand, more than 50 thousand new people are on the waiting list to get ration cards. If the above names are removed, those on the waiting list will be able to benefit from it.
Names of one lakh people will be added:
Shukla said that departmental investigation revealed that many people are working outside Dhanbad or they do not live here at all. In such a situation, by removing these names, names of new members of about one lakh card holders can be added.
