Samsung Galaxy S26: Samsung is preparing for some big changes regarding its next flagship series Galaxy S26. The latest reports and leaks are indicating that this time the company is going to do something new by breaking away from its old formula.
A new Edge version can replace the Plus model
So far Samsung has been launching three variants in its S series – Standard, Plus and Ultra. But now there is talk that the Plus model in the Galaxy S26 series will be removed and replaced by the Edge version. This means that now the lineup will include Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Low sales of Plus version became the reason
The popularity of the Plus variant has been declining steadily for the past few years. Sales figures show that this version sells less than the other two models. Perhaps this is the reason why Samsung now wants to bring a version in that place which is more attractive and different – and this is where the Edge model is entering.
Edge model can be stylish and feature-packed
The Galaxy S26 Edge is said to be a design-focused, slim and premium-feeling phone. It may also have some Pro-grade features that will make it different from the rest of the variants.
Model Number Leak Hint
Some model numbers have been leaked in the GSMA listing – SM-S942 (Galaxy S26), SM-S947 (Galaxy S26 Edge), and SM-S948 (Galaxy S26 Ultra). But SM-S946, which would have been the number of the Plus model, is missing. This has further given the belief that perhaps the Plus model is being removed.
Final decision has not come yet
Although all these updates are still based on rumors and leaks, it is clear that Samsung is thinking of changing its flagship lineup a bit. The Galaxy S25 Edge is being tested in the market, and if the response is good, there is no doubt that the Galaxy S26 Edge will arrive.
Now it remains to be seen what plans Samsung presents at the time of its launch – but for now, this change looks very exciting!
