Update Details and System Fixes

The HyperOS 2.2 update pays attention to correcting a number of system bugs and animation problems. Xiaomi has also smoothed out the animations to pause at the perfect time when users navigate between apps, move into subpages, or close apps in landscape mode. General bugs on gesture malfunctions, screen glitches, and animation lag when launching or closing apps have been addressed. Scrolling within third-party apps, particularly content feeds, has also been optimized for improved smoothness.

Visual and Home Screen Enhancements

A visual redesign is included in this update. A blur effect is now supported on the home screen wallpaper with a more trendy and stylish look. The full-screen indicator has also been improved with better animations and less spurious triggering of the XiaoAi assistant. Some classic UI pages have been rebuilt, and app launching animations have been fine-tuned for a smoother transition.

Lock Screen Customization Improves

Lock screen options have also received an impressive boost. Xiaomi has added new Eastern-style templates and lens-effect wallpapers to make the lock screen more personal. Users now receive the luxury of customizing lock screen shortcuts, thus having easy access to favorite apps and tools from right within the lock screen.

Improved Camera App Experience

The camera application has had a complete overhaul with a more professional, streamlined design. Feature menus and settings have been reorganized for simpler access to camera features. One of the highlights of the new feature set is an enhanced watermark tool, now enabling users to adjust the position of the watermark directly within the application. Such improvements are designed to provide greater control for creatives.

Settings and Accessibility Enhancements

In the Settings app, users can now browse system navigation settings directly from the home screen settings page. Xiaomi has also included customizability for some status bar icons. For accessibility, problems with gesture and volume button malfunction in TalkBack mode have been addressed. Insufficient audio feedback in core apps such as Calendar, Settings, Contacts, and Control Center has also been fixed.

Rollout Status in India and Beyond

The HyperOS 2.2 update is now going live for Xiaomi 14 Ultra users in India. The company confirmed that the update will continue to roll out across other models and markets in the following weeks. Interestingly, some users in international markets started receiving the same update last month.
