The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m., and several vehicles, including two trucks and two vans, fell into the river.

The nearly 900-meter-long Gambhira bridge has 23 pillars and connects Vadodara and Anand districts of Gujarat. 9 people have died in this accident, and many people are said to be seriously injured. Earlier, the death toll was only 2, but now it has increased to 9.

PM Modi announced compensation
After the bridge collapsed in Gujarat, the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, expressed grief. Sharing a post on social media, he said, The loss of lives due to the collapse of a bridge in Vadodara district, Gujarat, is deeply saddening. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM.
After the Gambhira bridge suddenly collapsed and fell into the river, the local police and fire brigade were notified. The fire brigade immediately carried out a rescue operation and saved the lives of 6 people. However, 9 people lost their lives in this incident.
