As fuel prices keep rising, Indian buyers are shifting focus to more budget-friendly options. That is bringing CNG cars back in demand in a big way. In just five years, their share in the market jumped from 6.3% to 19.5% last fiscal. Here is a look at the best-selling CNG cars from Ertiga to Nexon.
Maruti Ertiga CNG
Maruti Ertiga CNG stood on top with 1,29,920 units sold. This MPV remains the favourite with its strong practicality and family-friendly design. It runs on a bi-fuel setup, delivering a fuel economy of 26.11 km/kg. The price starts from ₹11,00,499 ex-showroom Delhi, making it one of the most popular choices in its class.
Wagon R CNG
At second place sits the Maruti Wagon R CNG, which clocked 1,02,128 units in FY2025. Its appeal comes from a spacious cabin and great mileage of 33.47 km/kg. This affordable hatchback starts at ₹6,68,500 ex-showroom, giving it an edge among budget-focused city buyers.
Dzire CNG
Maruti Dzire CNG took the third rank with 89,015 units. The sedan blends family appeal with a neat design and delivers a class-leading fuel economy of 33.73 km/kg. It is priced from ₹8,79,000 ex-showroom.
Tata Punch CNG
Tata Punch CNG became the fourth best-seller by moving 71,113 units. This micro-SUV gives a claimed fuel economy of 26.99 km/kg. Its price begins at ₹7,29,990 ex-showroom, adding a practical CNG option to Tata’s small SUV lineup.
Vitara Brezza CNG
Fifth on the chart was Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG, recording sales of 70,928 units. Priced from ₹9,64,000 ex-showroom, it returns 25.51 km/kg. The Brezza CNG blends SUV looks with reasonable running costs.
Maruti Eeco CNG
Maruti Eeco CNG took sixth place. It is priced at ₹6,95,500 ex-showroom in its only available trim, with 59,520 units sold. The van delivers 26.78 km/kg, appealing to buyers wanting big space on a tight budget.
Hyundai Aura CNG
Hyundai Aura CNG made it to seventh position with 49,464 units delivered. The sedan starts from ₹7,54,800 ex-showroom, offering 28.4 km/kg fuel efficiency, helping Hyundai keep pace in the CNG race.
Maruti Fronx CNG
The Maruti Fronx CNG ranked eighth with 42,051 units sold. It is priced from ₹8,49,500 ex-showroom and gives a claimed mileage of 28.51 km/kg. Fronx combines modern styling with a cleaner powertrain.

Tata Nexon CNG
Tata Nexon CNG took the ninth spot with 34,712 units. It is India’s first turbocharged CNG SUV, priced from ₹8,99,990 ex-showroom. Its claimed fuel efficiency is 24 km/kg, which is decent for a compact SUV.
Maruti Baleno CNG
Lastly, the Maruti Baleno CNG grabbed the tenth place with 24,220 units sold. The Baleno CNG is priced from ₹8,44,000 ex-showroom and returns a good fuel economy of 30.61 km/kg, maintaining its premium hatchback appeal.
