Old Age Pension- Mega update for old people who getting pension from Uttar Pradesh government. In the verification of the old age pension scheme done by the Social Welfare Department, 2782 pensioners were found dead and ineligible. The data of all these is now being removed from the beneficiary list.
After completion of 100% verification, now by the end of July, the first quarter installment of this financial year will reach the registered bank accounts of the pensioners. Under the scheme, 128454 pensioners are registered for old age pension in the district. These include pensioners from SC, ST, OBC, minority and general category.
To ensure that only eligible people get the benefit of the scheme, on the instructions of the Directorate, 100% verification of pensioners is done in the months of April, May and June of every financial year under the supervision of the department with the help of other departments.
In the verification done this time, 2782 pensioners were found dead and ineligible. The data of all these is now being removed from the beneficiary list. At the same time, new applicants found eligible after investigation will be included and given the benefit of the scheme.
Pension amount will reach by the end of July
The difficulties of the elderly waiting for their pension will soon be resolved. After the verification work is complete, the responsible officials are saying that the amount of the first quarterly installment of this financial year will reach the accounts of the pensioners by the end of this month. All the pensioners will get Rs. 3,000 each for the months of April, May and June at the rate of Rs. 1,000 per month.
