Pension Update- Big news for pensioners. Especially if you are from Himachal Pradesh, then this article is for you. Himachal Pradesh. As per the instructions issued by the Fund Rules and Finance Department, all the pensioners of the state can compulsorily submit their life certificate along with the necessary documents for the year 2025-26 by 30 September 2025. The process has started from 1st July.
If pensioners get biometric verification done through online digital life certificate, they will not need to appear personally in the treasury office in future. Biometric verification done on Jeevan Pramaan portal will remain valid for one year. All pensioners are requested to ensure submission of their life certificate within the time limit so that the pension distribution process can be kept uninterrupted.
How to submit life certificate
Jeevan Pramaan Patra can be downloaded from the department’s website http:Himkosh.hp.nic.in, which can be filled and submitted in any treasury office after getting it verified from the concerned Patwari, Panchayat Secretary, Bank Manager and any Gazetted Officer of HP Government. Pensioners can also submit Digital Life Certificate by getting biometric verification done on the portal www.jeevanpramaan.gov.in through biometrics available at National Informatics Centre (NIC), Treasury or Common Service Centre (CSC).
The digital certificate based on Aadhaar number will be accepted as a valid document by the treasury office.
Pensioners who have already registered their Aadhaar number with the Treasury can submit Jeevan Pramaan certificate through biometric device from any location and they will not be required to submit the document separately with the Treasury.
Why is life certificate necessary?
It is worth noting that Jeevan Pramaan Patra is a biometric enabled digital life certificate for pensioners. It is very important for retired employees of central government, state government and other government institutions. It shows whether the person receiving pension is alive or not. Especially pensioners have to submit life certificate in the last months of the year, because the life certificate submitted by the pensioners is valid for one year.
