DA is increased twice a year. The first increase takes effect in January, and the second comes into effect on July 1.
Even if there is a late increase in DA from the government, it is considered to be applicable from January 1 and July 1.
According to media reports, the government is expected to announce the DA to be implemented from July 1, before Diwali.
Currently, employees are getting 53% DA of their basic salary. If there is a 3% increase, it will become 56%, and if there is a 4% increase, it will become 57%.
