CNG-PNG Price- There is good news for those who use CNG and PNG. In the coming 2-3 days, the prices of CNG and PNG may decrease in many cities of the country. According to information received from sources, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has approved the new tariff regulation, which has cleared the way for reduction in CNG-PNG prices.
How is the price of CNG or PNG decided?
Till now the prices of CNG and PNG depended on the distance of your area from the gas filling station or pipeline. That is, the farther the area is, the more expensive the gas. But now under the new rules, a unified tariff system is being implemented. In this, not the distance, but the rate will be the same everywhere within a zone.
What will be the benefit?
Now, in cities like Ghaziabad and Meerut, CNG and PNG can be available at the same rates as Delhi. In cities which were paying more due to distance, prices are expected to come down. Companies will also get incentives for increasing CNG-PNG connections in remote areas, which can improve both the availability and price of gas there.
How many zones will there be now?
Till now the whole country was divided into 3 zones. Now this number will be reduced to just 2 zones, due to which more cities will be able to get the benefit of unified tariff.
Where can there be profit, where can there be loss?
Where gas is expensive now and the distance is more, the prices will decrease. At the same time, there will be some cities where the rates are low now but may increase a little after the unified tariff is implemented. Overall, this is a relief news for most people.
Why was the new tariff system introduced?
The government’s target is to set up 12 crore domestic PNG connections and 17,500 CNG stations across the country by 2030. This is being considered a big step in this direction under the concept of one country, one tariff, so that both the availability and price of gas can be balanced across India.
When will the new rule be implemented?
According to sources, the new tariff regulation may be officially released in 2-3 days, after which the companies will decide their new rates. Its effect may soon start becoming visible to the general public.
