Two electric SUVs are creating waves in the Indian market—one already launched and the other soon to be launched. With more emphasis on performance, range, and technology, buyers now have genuine choices. Have a look at the nitty-gritty of these comparisons to decide which EV is best for your drive priorities.

Battery and Motor Performance

Both SUVs come with dual battery pack options, but Maruti e-Vitara has a distinct advantage where capacity is concerned. With capacities of up to 61kWh, it trumps the Creta’s 42kWh and 49kWh packs. On power, e-Vitara offers up to 174 PS, while Creta tops out at 171 PS. Though Creta produces more torque, it provides 200Nm compared to Vitara’s 192.5Nm.

Driving Range

Maruti asserts the bigger battery option of e-Vitara has a range of more than 500 km, beating the Creta’s 473 km claimed by the latter. Although the range of the smaller battery pack is yet to be disclosed, the bigger variant alone provides e-Vitara a significant edge for people traveling long distances.

Dimensions and Space

The Hyundai Creta Electric is longer by 65 mm and has 20 mm more ground clearance. However, e-Vitara’s 90 mm longer wheelbase suggests better cabin comfort and legroom. Despite being slightly shorter, it might feel roomier inside.

Interior Comfort

Both cars are well specced, with ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and wireless charging. They also both have leatherette interior trim, LED boot light, adjustable headrests across all seats, and center armrests. While Creta skews towards premium functionality, e-Vitara makes up for the lack of it with a more straightforward but roomy design.

Exterior Highlights

Creta Electric and e-Vitara both feature LED headlamps, linked DRLs, and LED tail lamps. Although Creta receives 17-inch alloys and active air flaps, e-Vitara introduces slightly bigger 18-inch wheels. Both feature roof rails and trendy design language.

Tech and Features

Each EV comes equipped with a 10.25-inch driver screen, level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, TPMS, and electronic parking brake. But Creta comes with additional features such as powered co-driver seat and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), which e-Vitara lacks currently.

Safety Package

Maruti also seems to take a lead on safety with 7 airbags being standard, whereas Creta has 6. This factor alone may influence buyers who want the best protection.

Pricing and Availability

Hyundai Creta Electric starts from ₹17.99 lakh to ₹23.50 lakh. Maruti is not confirming the official price, yet expectations suggest it will start at around ₹17 lakh. The e-Vitara will hit Indian shores sometime in September, while Creta EV is already unveiled at India Mobility Expo 2025.
