Huge increase
As per the orders of the Finance Ministry, DA has been increased from 26.39 percent to 30.03 percent of the basic salary from January 1, 2023. How to pay arrears?
This DA hike is not only for the future but also has a provision for arrears. This will be a big financial help to the employees. Retired employees will have their DA arrears paid in 28 installments. Due to this, they will get their arrears regularly. For employees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), 10 percent of their DA arrears will be added to their PRAN accounts. The remaining 90 percent will be paid in installments along with the June salary. Here, some amount is saved for the future. The rest will be available immediately.
The benefit of the Dharavi Allowance (DA) hike for these employees is not limited to the main employees of the state government. Employees of Zilla Parishads, Mandal Parishads, Gram Panchayats, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, Agricultural Market Committees and District Headquarters Institutions who are regularly drawing pay scales in the revised pay scale of 2020 will also get the benefit of this DA hike. Teaching and non-teaching staff of aided institutions including aided polytechnics who are regularly drawing pay scales in the revised pay scale of 2020 will also come under the ambit of this scheme.
