Panchayat has been shot in a real panchayat office in Sehore, Mahodiya in Madhya Pradesh. The series has been well received by critics. The acting, story, direction and technical aspects were highly praised. Panchayat won almost all the awards in the comedy genre at the Filmfare OTT Awards, and its script and screenplay also received nominations.

The story is about a city engineering graduate who does not have much experience in village culture. After completing his degree, he gets the low-paying post of Gram Panchayat Secretary in Phulera, a small village in Uttar Pradesh.
