Bihar Police Constable Vacancy: A golden chance has come for candidates who have been waiting for government jobs in Bihar Police. Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) has released bumper vacancies for constable posts in the state. The last date for online application has been postponed, so candidates can apply and prepare now.
Bihar Police Constable Vacancy Details
CSBC has published a total of 19,838 vacancies for the post of constable in Bihar Police, including in the Bihar Special Armed Police. Reservation benefits apply only to indigenous residents of Bihar. Applicants from other states, both males and females, may apply in the unreserved category. The date for filing online applications has been extended to 25 April 2025 from 18 April 2025.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
For the post, applicants must have passed 12th grade from a known board or institution. Candidates possessing Maulvi certificate from Bihar Madrasa Board or Shastri/Acharya certificate from Bihar Sanskrit Board can also apply. The applicant’s age should be 18-25 years as of 1 August 2025. Relaxation in upper age limit is granted—2 years for BC/EBC category, 3 years for women applicants, and 5 years for SC/ST applicants.
Pay Scale and Recruitment Process
Shortlisted persons shall be paid a salary between ₹21,700 to ₹69,100. The persons shall be selected through a multi-phased process consisting of a written test, physical efficiency test, document verification, and medical test. The written test shall be a qualifying test and its marks shall not be added in the final merit list. Shortlisted persons after clearing the written test shall be invited for the physical efficiency test.

Eligible candidates need to go to the official CSBC website at csbc.bihar.gov.in. On the home page, under the Bihar Police tab, click on the advertisement dated 11-03-2025 with Advt. No. 01/2025 for the selection of constables. Download and read the PDF notification carefully. Then return and register through the given link, fill in the application form, and submit it. Application Fee Structure
The fee of application for general candidates is ₹675. The fee for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, women, and transgender candidates from Bihar is ₹180. The fee should be paid online at the time of application.
Exam Pattern and Important Guidelines
The written examination is only qualifying in nature, so its marks will not be included in the final merit. Yet, passing it is compulsory to sit for the following round. The aspirants must prepare as per the official syllabus, keep themselves updated through the CSBC website, and see that all documents are prepared for verification in the subsequent phases.
Physical Test and Medical Requirements
Physical efficiency test will test the candidate’s physical fitness by means of activities such as running and others. Next, a medical check-up will be carried out. Failure in either of these phases will result in disqualification, even if the candidate has passed the written exam.
