8th Pay Commission: There is a big update for central government employees. The central government has also started taking several important steps to implement the 8th Pay Commission as soon as possible. Let us tell you, the new pay commission is expected to increase the income and pension of about 47.85 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners. Not only this, after the approval of the 8th Pay Commission by the central government, state government employees will also get its benefit.
Announcement of filling 35 posts
According to media reports, the Finance Ministry has announced the filling of 35 posts for the 8th Pay Commission. The government had issued a circular on 17 April 2025, in which the Finance Ministry has proposed to fill 35 posts on deputation basis in the 8th Pay Commission. It has been said that employees will be appointed on these posts for the period from the date of formation of the 8th Pay Commission till the closure of the Commission.
Circulate the Circular
Let us tell you that in the circular issued by the Finance Ministry, it has been said that the appointments in the 8th Pay Commission will be made according to the regular norms decided by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) from time to time. Therefore, you are requested to circulate this circular among the concerned officers and employees in your department.
Basic salary is expected to increase
According to media reports, some important changes can be seen in the 8th Pay Commission. These include your basic salary to DA. The government can increase the fitment factor from 2.57 to 2.85 in the new pay commission. Due to this, the minimum basic salary of government employees is expected to increase. Apart from this, DA can be included in the basic salary after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. Along with this, house rent allowance and travel allowance can also be re-fixed on the basis of the new basic salary.
