IPL 2025 is currently in full swing in India, and the world’s biggest cricket league is entertaining fans passionately. However, shocking news has also emerged. There are concerns about the possibility of match-fixing in the IPL. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has alerted all 10 IPL teams about the threat of fixing. The BCCI also warned players not to fall into the trap of a certain businessman.
BCCI Warns All IPL Teams About Fixing Threat
According to a report by Cricbuzz, the BCCI has alerted all people involved in IPL, including team owners, players, coaches, support staff, and even commentators.
The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has raised concerns about a suspicious businessman from Hyderabad, who is trying to get involved in corrupt activities during IPL matches.
Businessman Linked to Bookies, Says ACSU
The ACSU believes this businessman has old connections with bookies and a history of illegal activities. The report says he is trying to get close to IPL players and staff by pretending to be a fan.
The ACSU has warned everyone to immediately report if this person tries to contact them in any way.
Offering Gifts to Players and Families
The report also claims the businessman was seen trying to make friends with players and support staff at team hotels and match venues. He has also invited some people to private parties.
Not only players, but their families are also being targeted. The businessman is offering gifts and trying to take them to jewellery stores and luxury hotels. He has even tried to reach out to their relatives living abroad through social media.
