Spy Drama Adrishyam 2: If you are a thriller and spy drama fan, you will love SonyLIV’s new offering ‘Adrishyam 2’. The pairing of Ejaz Khan and Pooja Gaur is the soul of this season. Remember, Divyanka Tripathi, who was seen last time, is not a part of the show this time. This time the story is even tighter, and the characters seem so real that for a moment you will feel as if you have become a part of an actual operation.
Ejaz and Pooja both become intelligence agents in confrontation with terrorism.
This season, Ejaz Khan is an undercover intelligence officer who fights the country’s enemies secretly, but firmly. Along with him, Pooja Gaur becomes a spy whose character is equally strong.
During the shooting, both the actors realized how many mental and physical challenges our honest life intelligence officers go through. Ejaz said that when you go deep into this profession, you understand how difficult every victory is to get – and sometimes that victory is only shown; in reality, it is a part of some big game.
Character preparation: From action to emotion
Puja Gaur divided the preparation of her character into two parts: physical training, which included rehearsal of action and fight scenes, and mental preparation. Pooja says, “The life of these officers has not one but many layers – a different face at home, different in the team and something else on the mission.”
Ejaz Khan said that for this character, he had to become a person who is not physically visible, but mentally strong. “A character who is always under the radar, yet is controlling everything.”
Prabhakar Aloka’s guidance gave an authentic touch.
The unique thing about the series is that a retired intelligence officer, Prabhakar Aloka, was present on the set during the shooting. She gave the actors detailed information about real-life agents’ lives, thoughts and behavior.
Ajaz shared, “From what Aloka ji told me, I understood that real victories are not what is shown on TV. In reality, it is a management game – where only what is important is shown to the public.”
Not just action, ‘Adrishyam 2’ also has emotions and a family angle
Ajaz Khan explains that ‘Adrishyam 2’ is not just an action series. “There is a balance in it – along with thrill, you will also get emotional connection, humor and a glimpse of family life. This show does not just show operations, but the real life of those people who take risks for their country daily.”
Pooja Gaur also agrees with this. She says, “The show does not just talk about heavy things, it also has light moments, which make it more interesting.”
