The only premium MPV to compete with the Maruti Ertiga in the Indian market, the Kia Carens, is coming with a significant change this month! Kia is preparing to launch the facelifted version of this popular MPV with a new name and many significant upgrades. This is not just a minor update, but it is going to be a completely new avatar of Carens, which will make it an even more powerful contender in its segment. If you are also looking for a premium and feature-loaded MPV, then this news is going to be very exciting for you.
New name, new identity

Kia is planning to launch its facelifted Carens as a new model. The company will use a completely new name, in which a suffix will be added after ‘Carens’ which has not been revealed yet. This will be similar to how Toyota sells the old-generation Innova Crysta and the new-generation Innova Hycross together.
Kia will also sell the current and facelifted Carens together, giving customers the freedom to choose according to their preferences. The new name will give this MPV a new identity and help it stand out from the current model.

Even sharper exterior
The exterior of the facelifted Kia Carens will be sharper and more attractive than before. It will get design elements inspired by the Kia EV5 sold in the international market. It is expected to have similar headlamps with star map lighting patterns in the DRL (Daytime Running Lights) and more edgier tail lights. Even the alloy wheels will be given a new and fresh look, which will further enhance the overall premium appeal of this MPV.
More modern interior than ever
Kia is likely to use a more contemporary design for the interior of the new Carens. Possible visual changes include a revised dashboard, new accent colors and decor elements, and a new steering wheel. These changes will give the interior a more premium and modern feel, giving passengers a great experience.
A wealth of new and powerful features
The facelifted Carens is likely to get Syros’ Trinity Panoramic Display, which will integrate a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 5-inch climate touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch HD digital instrument cluster—all of which will run on the new CNC software. The new infotainment system should also support wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
Apart from this, the new Kia Carens is expected to get better comfort with an electrically adjustable driver’s seat and ventilated rear seats. A panoramic sunroof can also be another big upgrade in this area, which will make the passengers feel more airy and make long journeys even more comfortable.

Range up to 425 km
The new Kia Carens will also be optionally available as an EV (Electric Vehicle), which can have a range of up to 425 km. Kia can use a 51.4 kWh NMC battery pack and 126 kW (169 hp) Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor in the top-end configuration of the electric variant. The first-ever Kia Carens EV will be the first pure electric MPV made in India, making it a powerful and unique contender in its segment. It will be a great choice for environmentally conscious customers.
