Haryana News: The Haryana State Government has taken special steps to ensure 24-hour power supply to consumers. The Haryana Power Distribution Corporation is strengthening the infrastructure to improve the power supply system for consumers living in camps/dhanis.
Under this, the capacity of transformers, line network and other power supply equipment is being increased, so that uninterrupted power supply can be ensured. This initiative is expected to provide maximum convenience and satisfaction to consumers, especially in rural areas where there were problems in power supply earlier.
Under this scheme, electricity connections are being provided to camps/dhanis falling within three kilometers of the Firni of Haryana villages. These connections will be given from the nearest power supply feeder. Managing Director of Uttar Haryana Power Corporation, Mr. Ashok Kumar Meena said that if the length of the line is up to 300 meters from the Firni, then consumers will have to pay only the service connection charge. The rest of the expenses will be borne by the Electricity Corporation.

The initiative aims to improve access to electricity in rural areas so that residents get stable and accessible power supply. This step can prove to be important towards rural development.

Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Power Corporation, Mr. Ashok Kumar Meena said that if the connection is issued at a distance of more than 300 meters, then 50 percent of the actual cost of LT/HT line will have to be borne by the consumers, while the remaining 50 percent will be borne by the corporation. The cost of transformer will be borne entirely by the corporation.
Besides, if the camps/dhanias falling within the radius of three kilometers which are getting power supply from agricultural feeder want to shift to village feeder, then the cost of shifting will have to be deposited by the consumers. However, the cost of transformer will be borne by the corporation in this case also.
Such schemes improve power supply in rural areas as well as provide convenient and economical solution to the consumers.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Meena informed that where existing electricity connections in camps/dhanis are installed using wooden poles or temporary structures, new infrastructure will be installed by the Electricity Corporation at its own cost. This will improve the stability and quality of power supply.
