LPG Price in April: Ahead of Navratri, Tuesday has brought some good news for LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) users. Starting April 1, there’s a change in LPG prices. Today, oil marketing companies have announced new rates for LPG cylinders. The price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has dropped by around Rs 45, making it cheaper from Delhi to Kolkata. However, the price of the domestic 14 kg LPG cylinder remains unchanged, staying steady since August 1, 2024.
Where LPG prices have decreased
According to the latest update from Indian Oil, the 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 41 cheaper, bringing the price down to Rs 1762 from Rs 1803 in March. In Patna, it’s priced at Rs 2031, while the domestic cylinder remains stable at Rs 901.
In Kolkata, the commercial cylinder, which was priced at Rs 1913 in March, has dropped by Rs 44.50 to Rs 1868.50 today. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the price has decreased from Rs 1755.50 to Rs 1713.50. The 19 kg blue cylinder in Kolkata has also seen a price reduction, now costing Rs 1921.50, down from Rs 1965.50 in March.
What does the April LPG price trend indicate?
Looking at the price trend for commercial LPG cylinders in April, we see that prices have risen three times and fallen three times over the past six years. On April 1, 2024, the 19 kg LPG cylinder prices dropped by Rs 30.50 in Delhi, Rs 32 in Kolkata, and Rs 31.50 in Mumbai. Last year, on April 1, 2023, there was also a significant drop when the price of the blue cylinder fell by Rs 91.50, going from Rs 2119.50 to Rs 2028.
The price of domestic LPG cylinders varies across different cities. In Delhi, the 14 kg cylinder remains at the same price as it was on August 1, currently selling for 803 rupees as of April 1, 2025. In Lucknow, the same 14 kg cylinder is priced at 840.50 rupees, while the 19 kg commercial cylinder is available for 1918 rupees. In Kolkata, the price is 829 rupees, in Mumbai, it’s 802.50 rupees, and in Chennai, it costs 818.50 rupees.
