Aadhaar Card Voter Card Link: The Election Commission has recently announced the integration of Voter ID with Aadhaar Card, a measure implemented under Article 326 of the Indian Constitution. This initiative aims to enhance transparency in the electoral process and mitigate instances of fraudulent voting. Additionally, the Election Commission indicated that it will initiate technical consultations with the Unique Identification Authority of India.

In light of this decision, many individuals are concerned about the process of linking their Aadhaar with their Voter ID. Citizens have five options to accomplish this task: through the NVSP portal, via a smartphone, using SMS, or through the Voter Helpline app. Furthermore, individuals can also visit their nearest Booth Level Officer (BLO) for assistance. Reports suggest that voters who decline to link their Aadhaar and Voter ID may be required to appear before the Election Commission to provide an explanation, as this proposal has been put forward.

Offline procedure

To find the nearest Booth Level Officer, visit the ECI website and submit an application form to link the two documents. The BLO will then initiate the verification process.

Online process

Alternatively, you can register on the National Voter Service Portal and log in using an OTP. Navigate to the “Aadhaar Collection” section and click on the link for Form 6B to connect your Aadhaar and Voter ID. Link your profile using the EPCI number located above your photo, verify it by entering the EPCI number, complete the form, and submit it.

Other methods

The two documents can also be connected using the Voter Helpline app. First, download the app. Then, click on “Explore” followed by “Login.” Navigate to the Voter Registration section and choose the Aadhaar Number Submission Form 6B option. Click on the “Let’s Start” button to initiate the process. Input your Aadhaar number, authentication location, and registered mobile number, along with your voter ID number and any other necessary details. After completing this step, select “Done.” Review the information provided and finalize Form 6B for linking your Voter ID with your Aadhaar card before submitting it.

To link your Aadhaar and Voter ID via SMS, send the EPIC link followed by a space to either “166” or “51969.”

For linking both documents over the phone, call “1950” and provide your Aadhaar number and EPIC number to the representative. This service is available from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
