e Shram: The number of individuals employed in the unorganized sector who have registered on the e-Shram portal has surpassed 30.68 crore. Notably, the proportion of women among the total registered workforce has exceeded that of men, now standing at 53.68 percent, with their count reaching 16.47 crore. In contrast, the total number of male workers is recorded at 14.42 crore.

Highest number of registered workers

Uttar Pradesh leads the nation with the highest number of registered workers, boasting over 8.38 crore registrations. Following Uttar Pradesh, Bihar has more than 2.97 crore registered workers, while Lakshadweep has the fewest. The primary objective of the labor portal is to register and support unorganized workers by providing them with a universal account number (UAN) based on self-declaration.

Integration with Various Portals

The e-Shram portal has been connected to the National Career Service and the Skill India Digital Portal to enhance employment and skill development opportunities. Additionally, it has been integrated with the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM) scheme to facilitate enrollment in the pension program. The portal also connects with the MyScheme Portal, allowing users to access information about government schemes in one location. Furthermore, various other government initiatives have been linked to this portal.

Several Government Schemes

Thirteen schemes from central ministries and departments have already been incorporated into e-Shram. These include initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, National Family Benefit Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban, and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, as well as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY).
