Mercedes-Benz has issued a major recall for its popular C-Class and E-Class cars in India. More than 2,500 units are affected by this recall. The company has taken this decision due to a possible defect in the ECU (Engine Control Unit) software. This defect can cause problems in the fuel injection of the car, which can lead to a sudden decrease in the speed of the vehicle. Let’s understand this whole matter in detail.
Recall done due to fault in ECU
Mercedes-Benz has officially informed that a technical flaw has been found in the software of the Engine Control Unit (ECU).
What is the problem
The software of the ECU is not matching the latest specifications. This can cause the fuel injection to stop when the car exits Sailing Mode, causing the car to suddenly lose speed.
What is the danger from this
If this problem occurs in a moving vehicle, the car may lose speed without any warning. This increases the chances of an accident.
