Maruti Suzuki has released the sales report for February 2025, in which some interesting figures have come to the fore. This month the company sold a total of 1,99,400 units, which was 1,97,471 units in February 2024 last year. That is, a marginal increase of 1% has been registered in the total sales of the company.

However, while Swift, WagonR and Baleno registered tremendous sales, Maruti’s premium sedan Ciaz disappointed again. Only 1,097 units of it were sold in February 2025, which was 481 units in February 2024 last year. However, this is also its best performance in the last 6 months. But is it enough?

News of discontinuation of production of Maruti Ciaz

For some time now, there has been a lot of discussion about Maruti Ciaz in the automobile industry. According to reports, the company may discontinue the Ciaz in April 2025. There were 7 variants of Ciaz available in the market, but now 4 variants have been removed. Now only the prices of Sigma, Delta and Delta AT are visible on the company’s official website, while the prices of Zeta, Zeta AT, Alpha and Alpha AT are missing.

Maruti Ciaz: Features and Safety

However, amid the news of discontinuation, Maruti has definitely given safety and color upgrades to Ciaz in February 2025.

Now this sedan is available in 3 new dual-tone color options:

  • Pearl Metallic Opulent Red with Black Roof
  • Pearl Metallic Grandeur Gray with Black Roof
  • Dignity Brown with Black Roof

Apart from this, more than 20 safety features have been added to Ciaz. Of these, Hill Hold Assist and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) have now been made standard across all variants.

Other safety features include

  1. Dual airbags
  2. Rear parking sensors
  3. ISOFIX child seat anchors
  4. ABS (Anti Lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution)

Maruti Ciaz: Engine and Mileage

No changes have been made to the engine of the Ciaz. It will get the same old 1.5-litre petrol engine, which generates 103bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. It is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

In terms of mileage

  • The manual version gives a mileage of 20.65 kmpl.
  • The automatic version gives a mileage of up to 20.04 kmpl.

Maruti Ciaz: Price and variants

  • The Ciaz starts at ₹11.14 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top variant will cost ₹12.34 lakh.
