Good news about GST returns. Actually there is big relief for taxpayers who file GST returns. Taxpayers can now easily file their GSTR-1 return via SMS right from their mobile phones, eliminating the need for a lawyer or CA.
This new method is especially convenient for those who file zero returns, regular or quarterly returns, and make monthly payments. The local commercial tax department is actively informing taxpayers about this feature and ensuring they understand how to use it.
If anyone encounters issues while filing their return, they can reach out to their circle office for assistance. This new facility is set to be a significant relief for traders, simplifying the GST return filing process.
Filing returns through SMS is super straightforward
State Tax Joint Commissioner Krishna Mohan Singh mentioned that the SMS filing process is a breeze. First, from your registered mobile number, go to your message box and type NIL, followed by the return type, GST IN, and return period, then send it to 14409.
Once you send the SMS, you’ll receive an OTP, which is your confirmation code. For the second step, just type CNF R1 along with that confirmation code and send it to 14409. After that, you’ll get an acknowledgment back.
It’s been over seven years since GST came into play, but filing returns is still a hassle. Many business owners aren’t fully aware of the requirements.
