In today’s digital world, a lot of our daily tasks have become super easy. With the information revolution in full swing, most of us carry smartphones. Whether it’s paying school fees, settling electricity bills, or transferring money to someone else’s account, we can handle these important tasks effortlessly thanks to our phones. But while this digital age has simplified many things, it also comes with its own set of challenges.

On the flip side, cyber fraud is on the rise. We’re seeing a surge in various scams like phishing, online fraud, fake customer service calls, and credit card scams popping up every day. Just a tiny mistake while browsing the internet can lead to significant losses.

If you find yourself in a situation where you’ve been scammed, the quicker you call the helpline, the better your chances of freezing the account where your money went. This can really help in getting your funds back.

The Home Ministry has updated the national helpline number from 155260 to 1930. The Department of Telecommunications announced this new number on their official X account. This helpline is especially useful for anyone who has fallen victim to financial fraud. You can also file a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal.

Additionally, you can report incidents online. Just head over to the Cyber Crime Portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in/. When you register your complaint, make sure to provide any evidence you have.
