Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar has selected India’s all-time T20 playing XI, making several surprising decisions. The biggest surprise is that Bangar hasn’t included Rohit Sharma, the captain who led India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

No place for Rohit Sharma in the team

Rohit is considered India’s most successful batsman in this format, but Bangar has chosen Virat Kohli as captain instead. It’s worth noting that Kohli is second in the all-time all-time run-scorer list in T20 internationals.

Bangar has included T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav in his team only as a middle-order batsman. He has relied on KL Rahul, who hasn’t been part of the T20 team for quite some time, to play the wicketkeeper’s role. Another major and surprising decision has been the omission of Hardik Pandya. Bangar has included Shivam Dube in his all-time XI as an all-rounder in place of star all-rounder Hardik.

Speaking of the bowling attack, Bangar has chosen the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. In the fast bowling department, he has prioritized the experience of Mohammed Shami and Ashish Nehra, while also including Deepak Chahar in the squad. Veteran Yuvraj Singh has also been included in the team to strengthen the team’s batting order, while Shubman Gill has been assigned the responsibility of opening the innings alongside captain Virat Kohli.

This team is also in the news because it doesn’t include big names like MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya. Sanjay Bangar’s selection of the team, which didn’t include such notables as Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, and Rohit Sharma, has divided fans on social media. Some are appreciating the former cricketer and coach’s decision, while others are not.
