In the Indian two-wheeler market, bikes of the 160cc segment are very popular. Especially bikes like TVS Apache RTR 160 and Bajaj Pulsar N160 have made their mark in this segment. But now the Japanese giant Honda is also preparing to launch a new bike in this segment. Recently, the design patent of Honda’s new bike CG 160 has come out, due to which it is expected that this bike can be launched in the Indian market soon. In such a situation, if this bike is launched for sale in India, then it can compete with TVS’s Apache RTR 160.
Engine and performance
If we talk about mechanical specifications, the Honda CG 160 is powered by a 160cc single-cylinder engine that generates 14.5bhp of power and 14Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 5-speed gearbox, from which great performance and excellent mileage can be expected. The power and torque figures of this engine bring it close to the TVS Apache RTR 160 which provides 15.3bhp of power and 13.9Nm of torque.
Suspension and Braking System
The suspension setup of this Honda bike is telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks which makes it excellent for smooth riding. The braking system of this bike is single-channel ABS with front and rear disc brakes which will provide better safety and stopping power will also be ensured.
Features and technology
The CG 160 gets an LED headlight, bulb turn indicators and a fully digital instrument console. Apart from this, it can also get Honda’s famous ESP Enhanced Smart Power technology which improves the engine performance and also increases mileage.
Will Honda launch it in India
According to some reports Honda has only patented the design of this bike and there are no plans to launch it in India yet. But if the company introduces it in the Indian market then it can be very popular in the 160cc segment and can compete with the bikes of the 160cc segment.
