New Delhi: Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in a joint attack by the US and Israel, following which a new leader has been elected. Iran continues to target US airbases and launch missile and drone attacks on several countries, but now its troubles are about to worsen.
So far, only the US and Israel have carried out major attacks on Iran under Operation Epic Fury, but the possibility of more countries joining in is being expressed. France, Germany, and Britain (the E3 countries) have issued a joint statement, issuing a serious warning.

They stated in the joint statement that they will take necessary defensive action to protect their interests and allies. They may take steps to destroy Iran’s missile and drone capabilities at the source.
It is surprising to know that the leaders of the three countries are extremely displeased with the Iranian military attacks. Expressing their displeasure, they stated that Iran has attacked countries in the region without any reason. They will work together with the US and regional allies. This statement was issued on March 1, 2026. This suggests that the war could spread further.

Iran may have lost its top leaders, but it is still unwilling to surrender. It continues to retaliate against US and Israeli attacks. It launched massive missile and drone strikes on Saturday and Sunday.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards described this as a major attack. Explosions were heard in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Dubai, Abu Dhabi (UAE), Doha (Qatar), Manama (Bahrain), Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.
Targeting a US airbase, the Iranian Air Force launched a major attack near the Palm Islands Hotel in Dubai, causing a fire. The US 5th Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain was targeted. Attacks also occurred at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Kuwait, and elsewhere.
In Israel, an attack on a synagogue in the city of Beit Shemesh killed at least nine people and injured several others. Deaths also occurred in Tel Aviv. Iran claims the attacks targeted a US base, but several civilian areas were also hit. Attacks also occurred in Jordan and Iraq.

New Delhi: The 8th Pay Commission will prove to be a major gift for central employees, with significant benefits expected. The demand for a minimum of five promotions for each employee under the new Pay Commission is also gaining momentum.
At the crucial meeting of the National Council (Staff Side) Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) held in New Delhi on February 25th, several key issues related to pay, promotion, and pension were discussed in detail. Representatives from several employee organisations, including those from the Defence, Railways, and Postal Departments, attended the meeting.

The organisations clearly stated that this time, the Pay Commission must focus specifically on employee career growth. The meeting demanded that a minimum of five promotions be set for each employee, thus alleviating the problem of employees stuck in junior positions for a long time.
The meeting also attempted to reach consensus on minimum basic pay, promotion policy, and annual pay increases. In the next 10-15 days, all organisations will submit proposals outlining their demands. A joint memorandum will be prepared based on these demands. This memorandum will be submitted to Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, Chairperson of the Eighth Pay Commission. It will be finalised at a meeting to be held after March 10th.

The issue of increasing the family unit also came up sharply at the National Council Joint Consultative Machinery meeting. Currently, three family units are considered when determining salaries, butorganisationss have demanded to increase this number to five so that parents can also be included.
This was considered necessary given rising inflation and responsibilities. Questions were also raised about pay disparity. Currently, the maximum basic pay in the 7th Pay Commission is 13 times the minimum salary. A proposal has been made to reduce this to 10 times to reduce the gap.
Employees have also expressed a clear viewpoint regarding pensions. There have been calls for the reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme, eliminating the NPS and UPS. In cities without CGHS facilities, pensioners have been asked to increase their monthly allowance by ₹1,000 to ₹20,000.
For your information, the Central Government may soon implement the 8th New Pay Commission. The Central Government is currently conducting a review, and its report will be ready soon. The committee is expected to submit its review report to the government by April-May 2027. The government can then take two to three months to implement it.
