New Delhi: The Bangladesh Cricket Board has suffered a major setback from the International Cricket Council (ICC). The ICC has taken a strong stance against Bangladesh, removing them from the ICC T20 World Cup. Scotland will take their place in the tournament.
The ICC has officially announced the decision, which has come as a major blow to Bangladeshi fans. Bangladesh has now been officially eliminated from the tournament. Scotland has been placed in Group C, which already includes England, the West Indies, and Nepal.

The controversy stemmed from Bangladesh’s refusal to play its matches in India, a demand they had been making to the ICC. The ICC rejected this demand, but Bangladesh still threatened to boycott the ICC T20 World Cup. Now, the ICC has officially removed them from the tournament.
Ongoing Dispute Between Bangladesh and the ICC
The dispute between Bangladesh and the ICC over relocating matches from India continued for three weeks. Bangladesh cited security concerns in India and demanded that their matches be held in Sri Lanka. The ICC did not agree to this.

After much deliberation, the ICC made it clear that Bangladesh would have to play their matches in India. A board vote also approved holding Bangladesh’s matches in India by a 14-2 majority. An independent security assessment had rated the threat level as low to moderate.
