Weather Warning: Amidst severe heat conditions in several states across the country, a spell of rainfall continues. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, and Northeast India over the next few days. Conversely, alerts have been issued regarding severe heatwaves in parts of East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, and Vidarbha. Warnings regarding heatwave conditions have also been issued for Bihar, Rajasthan, Telangana, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and other regions.
In some areas, the discomfort caused by the heat will be further exacerbated by high humidity. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for stormy winds and rain across 19 states, including Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Delhi Weather
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for both rain and heatwave conditions between May 24th and May 26th. According to the IMD, the weather today—Sunday—will remain clear. A heatwave alert remains in effect for certain locations, while strong winds gusting up to 40 kilometres per hour are expected. Meanwhile, tomorrow—May 25th—light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely. Stormy conditions may also be witnessed during this period. Furthermore, heatwave conditions are expected to persist on May 26th.
UP Weather
Regarding the weather in Uttar Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for several districts in Western UP—including Meerut, Shamli, Bulandshahr, and Saharanpur—anticipating stormy winds and rain. Additionally, heatwave conditions may prevail across both Eastern and Western UP from May 24th to May 29th.
In several districts of UP, daytime temperatures could soar up to 45 degrees Celsius. In cities such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Meerut, Noida, Agra, and Varanasi, hot weather accompanied by strong winds is expected, with the possibility of light rainfall in some isolated areas.
Bihar Weather
In Bihar, stormy winds, rain, and humid weather are likely in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Darbhanga. Rainfall is likely in several districts of Bihar on May 24, 28, and 29. Additionally, strong gusty winds may be witnessed on May 24. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is expected on May 25 and 26.
Weather in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rainfall at isolated places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal between May 24 and 26.
