New Delhi: The month of March is crucial for weather changes, witnessing a diverse range of experiences. While the heat is rapidly increasing in the plains, snowfall in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, and Uttarakhand continues to bring bone-chilling cold.
The coming few hours are not going to be easy, as rain could worsen difficulties in seven states, including Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Along with the rain, winds of up to 55 kilometres per hour are also possible. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in several states. Heavy Rain Alert in Seven States of North India
According to the IMD, rain could worsen problems in seven states of North India. The IMD has warned that rain could pose a disaster for people in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for light to moderate rain in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh from March 12th to March 17th. Moderate rain/snowfall is expected here.
Light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are expected in Uttar Pradesh on March 15th and 16th, and in Rajasthan on March 14th and 15th. Scattered to light rain is also expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from March 12th to 17th.
A warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of up to 30-50 kmph has been issued in Uttarakhand on March 15th. An alert for heavy rain has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh from March 14th to 16th.
Delhi Weather
The IMD has predicted cloudy skies in the national capital, Delhi, from the evening of March 12th. Temperatures are expected to rise during the day. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 12 to 15 kilometres per hour.
What will the weather be like in eastern and central India?
According to the IMD, rainfall is expected in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh from March 13 to 15, and in western Madhya Pradesh on March 14 and 15. Rainfall is expected in eastern Madhya Pradesh on March 15, in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 11 to 16, and in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal on March 11, 15, and 16.
