Rain Warning for UP
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 16 districts in Uttar Pradesh (UP), including Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, and Gorakhpur. There is also a possibility of lightning strikes in these areas. Additionally, strong winds are expected.

Impact of Rain in Bihar
Regarding the weather in Bihar, a spell of rain and strong winds is expected across several districts from May 9 to May 11. Rainfall has been forecast for numerous districts in Bihar, including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Darbhanga, and Begusarai. Warnings regarding lightning strikes and severe thunderstorms have been issued for certain areas. However, no significant drop in temperature is anticipated; instead, the rain may lead to humid heat, causing discomfort to residents.
Impact of Rain in Jharkhand
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, an alert has been issued for Jharkhand regarding heavy rainfall and stormy winds expected on May 11 and 12. The weather is likely to change abruptly in areas such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, and Bokaro.
What will the weather be like in Uttarakhand?
Turning to Uttarakhand, light rainfall accompanied by strong winds is likely in Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, Pithoragarh, Almora, and Chamoli. The Meteorological Department states that rain may be witnessed in these areas between May 11 and May 13.
What will the weather be like in Himachal?
Light rainfall is anticipated in Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Mandi, Kullu, and Chamba in Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall may also occur in the higher-altitude regions.
What will the weather be like in Haryana and Punjab?
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by lightning and winds gusting up to 50 km/h in Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana between May 11 and May 14.
Weather in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha
An alert for severe thunderstorms has also been issued for Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on May 9.
Rainfall Warning for These States
According to the Meteorological Department, over the next seven days, there is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, strong winds, and—in some isolated areas—heavy rainfall across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
