Rajkummar Rao Weight Gain Explained: Bollywood’s “method actor” Rajkummar Rao is once again in the news, and this time it’s not a film, but his changed appearance. Fans were a little perturbed by his new look on social media, but now Rajkummar himself has broken his silence.

Not surgery, it’s all about ‘Nikam’!

For the past few days, there’s been a lot of talk about Rajkummar’s jawline and facial shape. Now, the actor has clarified that it was all for his upcoming film, ‘Nikam’ (the biopic of Ujjwal Nikam). Rajkummar gained a total of 9-10 kg for this role.

The actor expressed his views on Instagram, saying:

“My identity is based on my art. For #Nikam, I had to change my look, which I absolutely love. I believe in embodying the character through hard work rather than prosthetics.”

Diet included pizza and lots of sweets

The usually fit Rajkummar enjoyed a big cheat meal for this role. He revealed that to gain weight, he ate two pizzas a day, lots of sweets, aloo parathas, and biryani. He says that he finds it more important to look like his character rather than looking “glamorous” on screen.

Has his appearance really changed?

Some old and new photos were being compared on social media, in which his face appeared significantly longer and different.

Claim: Rajkummar Rao has used plastic surgery or fillers.

Truth: Rajkummar himself has clarified that gaining weight and thinning his hair was a requirement for his film “Nikam.” He previously went half-bald for “Bose” and slimmed down for “Trapped.”

Next Mission: Sourav Ganguly’s biopic

There’s another big news for Rajkummar’s fans. After completing the shooting of “Nikam,” he is now preparing for the biopic of Sourav Ganguly (Dada). To achieve this, he will now have to lose his excess weight so that he can look as agile on the field as the ‘Prince of Kolkata’.

Why is this passion of Rajkummar’s special?

No prosthetics: Creating real change by gaining weight instead of using artificial makeup.

Dedication: Cutting his hair for ‘Bose’ and learning the mannerisms of a blind person for ‘Srikanth’.

Versatility: As soon as one biopic is finished, he starts preparing for another big one.
