GATE 2026 Answer Key: The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, conducted the GATE exams from February 7th to 15th at various locations across the country. The exam was conducted in multiple shifts. The GATE exam is considered crucial for engineering and science students, opening the door to higher education at prestigious institutions, including IITs and NITs. The GATE 2026 exam was computer-based, with papers covering 30 subjects. The exam began on February 7th and was conducted at various centres on February 8th, 14th, and 15th. Candidates who appeared in the exam are eagerly awaiting their answer keys and results. Candidates were given three hours for each paper.

The GATE exam consisted of three types of questions. The first section was MCQs: a total of 4 options were given for each question, and the correct option had to be selected.

Negative marking would apply for incorrect answers. The second section consisted of MSQs. More than one option could be correct in these questions. However, there is no negative marking. The third section was NAT. Candidates have no options for these questions. They must type their answers manually on the computer.

When will the answer key be released?

After the exam, IIT Guwahati will release the provisional answer key very soon. As per the previous pattern, the answer key was released 10 days after the exam. Therefore, the answer key is expected to be released in the last week of February. However, no official information has been released.

Once the GATE 2026 answer key is released, visit the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in
Click on Application Login on the website’s home page.
Enter your Enrollment ID/Email Address, Password, and the provided code and click the LOGIN button.
The answer key will then open on the screen, allowing you to download and verify it.
You will also be able to submit objections to the answer key through login.

Objection Window and Fees
You may have to pay Rs 500 for each objection. Only valid objections will be considered before the final answer key is released. The GATE 2026 exam was held on February 7, 8, and 14.
