CBSE Class 10 & 12 Exams – What to Carry, Banned Items, Admit Card Rules on Feb 17

CBSE Board Exam Guidelines 2026:The CBSE Board Secondary and Senior Secondary exams are scheduled to begin tomorrow, February 17th. Only a few hours remain before the CBSE board exams begin. Students have prepared intensively for the exams. According to details shared by CBSE, A total of 4.6 million students, across both classes, are scheduled to appear for the board exams.
The board has issued several guidelines for all students. Students must follow certain rules during the exams. CBSE board exams will begin at 10:30 a.m. All students are asked to reach the exam centre by 10 a.m. Entry to the centre will be allowed only until 10 a.m., after which the gates will be closed.
Admit Card Mandatory
It is mandatory for students to carry their admit card to appear for the board exams. Entry without a hall ticket will not be permitted. In this case, they may be disqualified from appearing for the exam. Therefore, students are advised to have their admit card at least a day in advance.
Dress Code
Regular mode students must wear their school uniform to the exam centre. However, private mode students can wear simple shirts, T-shirts, plain pants, or trousers. Female students are prohibited from wearing heavy dresses, embroidered or layered clothing, earrings, nose pins, anklets, and heavy jewellery.
Exam Day Schedule
• Entry to the exam centre – Before 10 AM
• No entry allowed – After 10 AM
• Question paper distribution – Around 10:15 AM
• Exam start time – Around 10:30 AM
Students must bring the following documents to the exam:
• Printed CBSE admit card
• Valid photo ID proof
• Required stationery, such as a blue or black pen
Important Guidelines for Students
• Arrive at the exam centre at least 30 to 45 minutes early. • Check the location of the exam centre in advance.
• Follow the invigilator’s instructions.
• Write down your roll number, name, and other details carefully.
Important Rules
Do not bring smartwatches, calculators, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or other electronic gadgets to the exam centre.
Do not bring any material that may be used for cheating.
All students must be present at the centre on time.
10th and 12th Exam Dates
Class 10 exams will be held from February 17 to March 11, 2026. Additionally, Class 12 board exams will be held from February 17 to April 10, 2026. Board exams will be conducted in one shift. The exam timings will be from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. For some subjects, the timings have been fixed from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
