CBSE Class 10 & 12 Exam 2026 – Are Calculators Allowed? Check Prohibited Items List for Feb 17

CBSE Board 10th, 12th Exam 2026: The CBSE board exams are approaching. Students are preparing for them in full swing. However, every year, a large number of students arrive at the exam centre confused about what is allowed and what is prohibited. The CBSE has already issued several rules for the board exams. Calculators are completely banned for general students in the Class 10 and 12 board exams. This rule applies to all subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and accountancy. Any type of calculator is prohibited in the exam hall.
The CBSE Secondary (10th) and Senior Secondary (12th) board exams are scheduled to begin on February 17th. According to the notification, 4.6 million students across both classes will appear for the board exams. Before the exams begin, the board has shared details with students regarding the dress code, exam guidelines, and other details.
What will be the dress code for regular students?
Regular students appearing for CBSE board exams will wear their school uniform to the examination centre. This rule will apply equally to both classes, 10th and 12th.
Dress code for private students?
According to the information shared, private students are allowed to wear simple shirts, T-shirts, plain pants, and trousers for the exam. Female students are prohibited from wearing heavy dresses, embroidered or layered clothing, and jewellery such as earrings, nose pins, anklets, bracelets, rings, and necklaces.
Admit Card
All students are advised to bring their admit card to the exam centre. Without the admit card, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. In such a case, you may be disqualified from appearing in the exam.
Exam Date and Shift Timing
The Class 10 exams will begin on February 17 and will continue until March 11, 2026. Meanwhile, Class 12 board exams will be conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026. According to the timetable, exams will be held in a single shift. Exam timings will continue from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
