Bihar Board 10th Exam 2026 Update: The Bihar School Examination Board has completed preparations to conduct the Class 10 board exams from February 17, 2026. This year, approximately 1.512 million students from across the state are appearing for the exam. The board has made extensive security arrangements to ensure a transparent and cheating-free examination. The exam will be held until February 25, 2026, and a total of 1,699 examination centers have been set up across the state.

Exams to be held in two shifts

A total of 1,512,687 candidates, including approximately 785,722 girls and 726,961 boys, will appear. The exam is being conducted in two shifts to ensure smooth conduct. Approximately 758,000 students will appear in the first shift, while approximately 754,000 students will appear in the second shift.

Over 71,000 students will appear for the exam in the capital Patna district. 70 examination centers have been set up for this purpose. Approximately equal numbers of students will appear in both shifts to ensure crowd control and better security arrangements.

Administrative Surveillance Increased in Districts

Board Chairman Anand Kishor has instructed officials in all districts to ensure a peaceful conduct of the exam. The administration, police, and education departments have been assigned joint supervision. He clarified that any irregularities in the examination process will not be tolerated.

Examination centers across Bihar will be strictly monitored. Immediate action will be taken against those found cheating or creating disturbances. Forcibly entering an examination center could result in a student being barred from the exam for two years, and legal action may also be taken.

Candidates with disabilities will be provided with a scribe during the exam. They will also be given an additional 20 minutes per hour to ensure they can complete the exam comfortably.

Important Rules on the Day of the Exam

Students will be admitted to the exam center one hour before the start of the exam. The main gate will be closed 30 minutes before the exam begins. Students will only be allowed to bring their admit card, pen, pencil, and necessary stationery. Electronic devices of any kind are strictly prohibited.

If a student forgets their admit card, they may be granted a temporary permit. Identity verification will be based on the photo and roll number in the attendance register.

Two-stage screening

Students will be screened in two stages: the first at the main gate and the second inside the examination hall. One invigilator will be deployed for every 25 students. Electronic devices such as mobile phones, Bluetooth, pagers, electronic watches, smartwatches, and magnetic watches are prohibited in the examination center.

CCTV and videography have been installed at all examination centers. Before the exam begins, announcements will be made through microphones at the examination centers to encourage students to proceed directly to the examination center, avoiding gathering at the gate.

A control room has also been set up, which will be active from 6:00 AM on February 16th to 6:00 PM on February 25th. The control room numbers are 0612-2232257 and 0612-2232227. The District Magistrate, District Education Officer, and all nodal officers will be connected to the committee’s WhatsApp group to provide information and promptly resolve any issues.
