To address the water crisis faced by farmers, the Rajasthan government has introduced a unique scheme called the ‘Khet Talai Yojana’. Under this scheme, farmers are provided with financial assistance to build ponds in their fields. These ponds will help store rainwater, which can then be used for irrigation.

Small, marginal, Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribe farmers in the state will receive grant assistance of up to Rs 1,35,000 under this scheme. Farmers from other categories will be eligible for assistance of up to Rs 1,20,000. The main objective of this scheme is to solve the water crisis in agriculture and help farmers become self-reliant.
