On which route will the first Vande Bharat sleeper train run?
Indian Railways’ first Vande Bharat sleeper train will connect Northeast and Eastern India. This train will run from Guwahati to Kolkata’s Howrah Station. This historic train will be flagged off by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to railway sources, it may be launched on January 17 or 18, 2026.
Until now, Vande Bharat trains only offered chair cars, which are considered ideal for short distances. However, the arrival of the sleeper version will provide significant relief to long-distance travelers. This train will feature comfortable beds, improved suspension, and quieter cabins, making night travel even more enjoyable for passengers.

How much will the rent be?
Many passengers are now wondering how much fare they will have to pay for such amenities on the Vande Bharat Sleeper. The fare for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train on the Guwahati-Howrah route is set at Rs 2,300 for 3AC, with meals provided. Traveling in 2AC will cost Rs 3,000, while the fare for 1AC is set at Rs 3,600.

Speaking of amenities, the Vande Bharat Sleeper will be completely modern. It will feature washrooms with sensor-based taps, improved sanitation, and a comfortable interior. For safety, an emergency talk-back unit has been provided, allowing passengers to directly contact train staff or the loco pilot if needed.
