If you’re planning a pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi, the Indian Railways has some great news! Train services on major routes that were closed for months due to heavy rains and waterlogging are resuming from November. These trains include important express trains connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jammu Tawi, Bandra Terminus, Kota, and the Yoga City of Rishikesh. This decision by the Railways will significantly ease travel not only for passengers but also for pilgrims and tourists. All trains will resume their services in a phased manner between November 1 and 5.

A major convenience for Vaishno Devi pilgrims

The Railways has taken the historic decision to resume train services, keeping passenger convenience in mind. This will strengthen rail connectivity between major religious sites and cities in North India. This decision is particularly beneficial for pilgrims traveling to Vaishno Devi, Rishikesh, and Kamakhya, as nearly two months ago, heavy rains closed several routes.

This disruption completely disrupted train traffic around Jammu. Now, trains are returning to service between Vaishno Devi, Jammu, and Rishikesh, making travel not only convenient but also more affordable. This initiative by the Railways brings significant relief to pilgrims in view of the festive season.

Services to Resume After Safety Inspections

Uprait Singhal, Senior Commercial Railway Manager, Jammu Railway Division, confirmed that these trains have been resumed only after the completion of track safety inspections and technical reports. These trains are part of the sixth phase of the restoration. Several other train services have already been successfully resumed in the previous five phases.

More trains will resume operations in the coming days. Singhal urged passengers to check train schedules on the Northern Railway’s official website or helpline before traveling to avoid any inconvenience. Train operations in the Jammu division are gradually returning to normal, and passengers will be able to travel again from November 1.

Key Trains to Resume Running from November

The Railways have announced the resumption of these key trains for the convenience of passengers. From November 1, train number 14609/10 will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Yognagari Rishikesh. Following this, from November 2, train number 19803/04 will operate between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Kota.

From November 3, train number 19027/28 will resume service between Jammu Tawi and Bandra Terminus. Finally, from November 5, train number 15655/56 will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Kamakhya. This move will provide relief to millions of passengers and make travel easier during the festive season.
