UIDAI New Feature: If you are an Aadhaar cardholder, this news could be very important for you. All the information recorded in the Aadhaar card is extremely crucial. Any incorrect information can lead to significant problems. The mobile number is especially important. If you are planning to update your mobile number, you will no longer need to visit an Aadhaar center or post office. UIDAI has launched a new facility that allows Aadhaar holders to update their mobile numbers from the comfort of their homes. This facility is being offered through UIDAI’s new Aadhaar app, which was recently launched.

UIDAI’s App is Amazing

The new Aadhaar app launched by UIDAI is equipped with many digital features. Through this app, several Aadhaar-related details can be viewed and updated. The app also provides an option to update the mobile number, making the process much easier than before. However, there has been no official confirmation from UIDAI regarding whether this facility is fully implemented or still in the testing phase.

App Needs to be Installed on Mobile

To update the mobile number, users must first download and install the new Aadhaar app on their smartphone. After logging into the app, users will also see information related to processing time, fees, and necessary conditions.

Available on both Android and iPhone

The new Aadhaar app is available on both Android and iOS platforms. After installing the app, users need to log in using their Aadhaar details. Once logged in, the user can use all the features of the app.

Update Option Available in the App

After opening the app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Options like Share ID and QR Scan will appear at the top. Below, you will see options like Update My Aadhaar and My Contact.

How to Update Mobile Number

After clicking on Update My Aadhaar, four options will appear. These include Mobile Number Update, Address Update, Name Update, and Email Update. Clicking on the Mobile Number Update option will display information about the fees, time required, and necessary steps on the screen. To proceed, you will need to tap on Continue.

Number verification will be done via OTP

In the next step, your current registered mobile number will be displayed on the screen. Below it, you will need to enter your new mobile number. An OTP will be sent to the new number, and after verifying it, the process will be complete. Once all the steps are completed correctly, your mobile number will be successfully updated in your Aadhaar card.
