Fixed deposits (FDs) have always been one of the most popular and safe investment instruments among Indian investors. To further strengthen this trust, three major banks – Indian Bank, IDBI Bank, and State Bank of India (SBI) – are running special FD schemes. The specialty of these schemes is that customers are getting higher interest rates than normal FDs. Apart from this, senior and very senior citizens are also being given the benefit of additional interest rates, which can give great returns on their savings.

Special schemes of the Indian Bank

Indian Bank has recently launched two new attractive FD schemes, which can prove to be a golden opportunity for investors. In the IND SECURE (444 days) scheme, general customers are getting an interest of 6.70%, while for senior citizens this rate is 7.20% and for very senior citizens it is 7.45%. At the same time, the IND GREEN (555 days) scheme is giving 6.60% interest to general customers, while for senior citizens this rate is 7.10% and for very senior citizens it is 7.35%. Both schemes are available for investment till 30 September 2025.

IDBI Bank’s Utsav Callable FD

IDBI Bank has launched its Utsav Callable FD scheme, which gives the option of three special periods – 444, 555, and 700 days. In this scheme, interest rates for general customers range from 6.60% to 6.75%. Senior citizens get interest ranging from 7.10% to 7.25%, while for very senior citizens, the interest rate in ‘Chiranjeevi FD’ is up to 7.40%. The last date for investment in all these schemes is 30 September 2025.

SBI’s Amrit Vrishti Scheme

The country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), is also not behind. It has launched the Amrit Vrishti FD (444 days) scheme. In this, general customers will get interest of 6.60%, senior citizens 7.10% and very senior citizens up to 7.20%. However, SBI has not yet announced the last date of this scheme.

Why are these special FDs special

While the interest rates in normal FDs are slightly lower, customers are getting better returns in these special FD schemes. Apart from this, there is an option to invest for a specific period (444, 555, and 700 days), which is not available in normal FDs. If you are looking for a safe and stable investment option, then the special FD schemes of these banks can be a great opportunity for you. These schemes will prove to be even more beneficial, especially for senior and very senior citizens.
