Schools up to class 8 closed in Bhopal
The Madhya Pradesh government has made the decision to close schools due to the extreme heat. The Bhopal district administration has issued an order stating that all government and private schools in the district will not conduct classes for children from nursery to eighth grade until April 30. However, teachers are still required to report to school on time as usual.
Summer vacation begins in Odisha schools
The Odisha government has declared an early summer vacation for schools (School Summer Vacation 2026) in light of the rising temperatures. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi announced that summer vacation for all schools in the state will commence on April 27, 2026. Typically, summer vacation in the state starts on May 6. This early break has been announced after temperatures soared to 44 degrees in various districts across the state.
When are the summer holidays in UP?

The state government has declared summer vacations for all government, private, and aided schools from April 20 to June 15, 2026. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai stated that the safety of children is the government’s priority.
Schools to be closed for 50 days in Delhi
Summer vacations may start from May 11, 2026, in all government and aided schools in Delhi. Because according to the 2025-26 academic calendar issued by the Directorate of Education, Delhi, the summer vacations in schools ( School Summer Vacation Delhi ) started from May 11. This time too, it is expected that the government may start the school summer vacation from the first or second week of May.
Schools in Delhi will remain closed for at least 50 days. Because last year the schools were closed from May 11 to June 30. However, a review meeting may be held on May 2 on the necessary rules regarding summer vacation and school operations during summer.
