RailOne App: Indian Railways has taken a significant step towards Digital India, providing significant relief to ordinary passengers. Now, you no longer need to wait in long lines at railway stations for hours to buy a general ticket (unreserved ticket). The Railways have announced that from January 14, 2026, to July 14, 2026, passengers will receive a direct 3% discount on booking tickets through the RailOne mobile app. This facility will prove to be a significant relief for millions of passengers who travel in general coaches for their daily needs.
What is the Railway Discount
The Railways’ primary objective is to reduce congestion at railway stations and promote cashless transactions. In this regard, the Railway Ministry has launched this significant scheme for the next six months. If you book a general ticket using digital means on your mobile, you will receive a direct discount on the ticket price.

This discount will be effective from January 14, 2026, and will remain in effect for the entire six months, i.e., until July 14, 2026. This steely scheme will benefit all passengers who choose digital payment for unreserved tickets.

How to get the discount
Several prerequisites have been set to avail this stellar discount. This discount will only be valid if you pay using digital methods like UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking when booking tickets on the RailOne app. It’s worth noting that if you pay using your R-Wallet (the Railways’ digital wallet), you won’t receive this direct 3% discount.
However, the Railways haven’t disappointed R-Wallet users, as passengers already receive a 3% cashback bonus when booking tickets using the R-Wallet. This means that no matter which digital method you choose, you’re guaranteed significant savings.
