If an investor deposits ₹2 lakh in Kisan Vikas Patra, they receive a total of ₹4 lakh upon completion of the stipulated maturity period. This includes the principal amount plus an equal amount as interest. The current interest rate is 7.5 percent per annum compounded annually, according to which the investment amount doubles completely in 115 months, or approximately 9 years and 7 months.

Investment in the Kisan Vikas Patra scheme can be started with as little as ₹1,000. After that, investment in any amount is possible as there is no maximum investment limit.
