PM Kisan Yojana Update: So far, there have been 22 installments of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. PM Modi released the most recent installment from Assam on March 13th. Now, farmers are eagerly waiting for the 23rd installment (PM Kisan Yojana 23rd Installment). If you are a new farmer looking to apply for the Kisan Yojana installment for the first time, there are a few important things to consider.
To benefit from the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government has made it necessary for farmers to register in certain states. If you reside in one of these states where registration is required and are thinking about registering again, it’s essential to read this news.
Which states require farmer registration?
Starting in 2026, creating a farmer ID will be mandatory for new registrations under the PM-KISAN scheme in 14 states. These states include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. If you are from one of these states, you must first obtain a farmer ID. Only then can you apply for the PM-KISAN scheme.
Moreover, farmers who gained land ownership after February 1, 2019, or in situations where multiple family members are receiving benefits, might have their payments temporarily paused until physical verification is completed. This means that installments for these farmers will be released only after verification. However, the 23rd installment is still awaited. It’s advisable to get your verification done in advance.
When will the 23rd installment of PM Kisan Yojana come?
There is no official information yet regarding the 26th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana. However, the first installment of the last financial year came in the first week of August (August 2, 2025).
